Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins is proud to announce its appointment as General Counsel to the Park Forest Public Library. Partner Thomas M. Melody will lead the firm’s representation of the Library.
For decades, KTJ’s Library Law Practice Group has counseled public libraries and library districts across Illinois, guiding boards and administrators through board governance, finance, compliance and litigation. The firm is pleased to bring that experience to the Park Forest Public Library and looks forward to supporting its Board and staff as they continue the library’s mission of opening doors to information, education and recreation for Park Forest residents.
“We’re looking forward to working with the Park Forest Public Library’s Board and staff,” said Melody. “This library has played an important role in the Park Forest community since its start as a bookmobile stop in 1948, and we’re honored to support that legacy.”
Tom’s practice spans the firm’s Library, Municipal, School and Corporate Law groups, with particular focus on labor and employment matters. He has negotiated many collective bargaining agreements and represents employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including contract administration and grievance arbitration, compliance with State and Federal labor and employment laws, and employment litigation in both State and Federal courts and administrative agencies.
