On October 22nd, 2025, as part of the Illinois State Bar Association’s (ISBA’s) Lunchtime FOIA Series, KTJ Partner Mallory Milluzi will give a webcast on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and how it pertains to law enforcement records.

Program Overview:

Mallory will discuss the challenges that arise when navigating these records while protecting an individual’s right to personal privacy and the integrity of active investigations. This includes the unique challenges presented by body-worn camera footage, juvenile records, and other sensitive material.

One of Mallory’s specialties lies in counseling school districts, municipalities, and public bodies on FOIA. Her knowledge of the intricacies and nuances of FOIA led to publications in both the Journal of the Illinois Institute for Local Government Law and the Illinois Municipal League, as well as her numerous previous presentations and training programs.

Lunchtime FOIA Series Information:

This program is the third part of the larger “Lunchtime FOIA Series” presented by the ISBA’s Standing Committee on Government Lawyers, which aims to educate current and prospective attorneys on FOIA’s application in the modern world. Other programs in this series include FOIA Case Law and Public Access Counselor Opinions Update and FOIA Best Practices: A Discussion with the Public Access Counselor. Each program in the series qualifies as 1.0 hour MCLE (Minimum Continuing Legal Education) credit.
