Overview
Peter Nickell is an Associate Attorney with Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins. He graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in 2025, where he earned multiple CALI Awards—including in Property, Criminal Law, and Employment Law—and served as a member of the DePaul Law Review. He also earned a Master of Public Administration from DePaul in 2017.
Prior to joining KTJ, Peter spent over a decade in local government, including serving as a Management Analyst and Assistant to the Village Manager in two Chicagoland municipalities. In those roles, he supported the management of capital improvement programs, human resources, and the preparation and presentation of items to boards and committees in public and closed-session meetings. While attending law school part-time, Peter worked for the City of Chicago, including positions in the Chicago Police Department, where he managed projects related to the Consent Decree and conducted internal audits as a member of the Department’s Audit Division.
