Mr. Farrugia graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.A. in Communication Studies in 2010. He then graduated from Chicago - Kent College of Law, with a concentration in business and finance. During his time at Chicago - Kent, Mr. Farrugia completed several externships and internships in Chicago, including externing for the Honorable Melissa Durkin of the Circuit Court of Cook County, interning in the corporate department of the Chicago Transit Authority, and interning in-house at a Big Data company named Information Resources, Inc. Mr. Farrugia also served as Vice-President of the Student Bar Association at Chicago - Kent. Mr. Farrugia is a member of the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar Associations. Mr. Farrugia was admitted to the bar in November of 2018.
Mr. Farrugia is an associate in the KTJ Wealth & Succession Planning Department. In that capacity, he serves individual and fiduciary clients in regard to their income tax, gift tax, estate tax, generation skipping transfer tax, estate planning, probate estate and trust administration, will contests and estate and trust litigation, fiduciary taxation, and tax planning needs. Mr. Farrugia also represents for-profit corporations with regard to formation, mergers and acquisitions, general transactions, and business succession planning. Mr. Farrugia represents not-for-profit corporations with regard to formation, tax-exemption, registration, and general transactions. Mr. Farrugia represents KTJ’s local government clients with regard to taxation and finance issues, including, but not limited to, PTAB appeals, tax rate objections, tax-exemption issues, budgeting, the levy process, and Tax Cap concerns.
Mr. Farrugia lives in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. From North Carolina, he enjoys exploring the large city, reading a good book, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Philadelphia Eagles.
