Donald E. Renner III
Mr. Renner graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a B.A. in History, Psychology and Spanish in 2000. He then graduated from DePaul College of Law, Cum Laude, and received from DePaul Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, With Distinction, an M.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting. During his time at DePaul, Mr. Renner served as an extern to the Honorable William J. Bauer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Renner also served as Notes and Comments Editor as well as Executive Editor for a law review in which he was a founding member, the DePaul Journal of Sports Law and Contemporary Problems. Mr. Renner is a member of the American, Illinois, Chicago and DuPage County Bar Associations. Mr. Renner was admitted to the bar in November of 2003.
Mr. Renner heads the KTJ Wealth & Succession Planning Department. In that capacity, he serves individual and fiduciary clients in regard to their income tax, gift tax, estate tax, generation skipping transfer tax, estate planning, probate estate and trust administration, will contests and estate and trust litigation, fiduciary taxation, and tax planning needs. Mr. Renner also represents for-profit corporations with regard to formation, mergers and acquisitions, general transactions, and business succession planning. Mr. Renner represents not-for-profit corporations with regard to formation, tax-exemption, registration, and general transactions. Mr. Renner represents KTJ’s local government clients with regard to taxation and finance issues, including, but not limited to, PTAB appeals, tax rate objections, tax-exemption issues, budgeting, the levy process, and Tax Cap concerns.
Mr. Renner lives with his wife and three daughters in Downers Grove, Illinois. He is active in the Downers Grove community serving as a member of the Board of Education for Community High School District Number 99, a member of the District 99 Education Foundation and as a Park District youth sports coach.
